TL;DR: Selected Projects at Hyatt

A quick look at the most recent project I led as a Product Designer at Hyatt Hotels. This page is a placeholder while I prepare full case studies.

HYATT PASSPOINT — HOTSPOT 2.0 PHASE II

The Challenge

  • Hotel Wi-Fi onboarding was fragmented, insecure, and inconsistent across devices.

  • Upgrade flows (premium internet, loyalty tiers) lacked clarity.

My Role

  • Designed unified Passpoint Wi-Fi flows:

    • Web-based Online Sign-Up (OSU) prior to arrival.

    • Onsite captive portal for guests connecting to @Hyatt_WiFi.

    • Passpoint profile installation for iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows.

    • Smart app redirection to the World of Hyatt app post-authentication.

  • Delivered screen-by-screen flows with conditional logic (loyalty, PMS auth, access codes, upgrade options).

  • Partnered with Nomadix engineers to align flows with security, accessibility, and branding.

Impact

  • Guests connect to secure, encrypted Wi-Fi with one-time setup.

  • Increased adoption of loyalty benefits tied to internet tiers.

  • Created scalable templates across Hyatt’s 28 brands.

The landing page introduces Passpoint as Hyatt’s smarter, more secure way to connect to Wi-Fi. Guests are prompted to set up their profile through a clear, primary CTA before learning more about the technology.

The setup modal presents sign-in options for World of Hyatt members and non-members, balancing loyalty promotion with accessibility. Multiple authentication methods are provided: sign-in, join, or email entry.

The “Let’s Get Started” form collects required guest information to create a Passpoint profile. Copy emphasizes the value of membership while offering a straightforward fallback for non-members.

Guests choose between setting up Passpoint (secure, one-time profile) or accessing the open network. The design clarifies the trade-off between convenience and security while keeping both options accessible.

Step-by-step installation flow for Passpoint profiles. Device-specific instructions are presented with a clear call to download, ensuring guests can complete setup without technical confusion.
